Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)is an illness that presents with dyspnea and its comorbidities also. Especially, existence of depression/anxiety as an comorbidity leads therapeutic incompliance and impairments on quality of life. In this study, we evaluated the relationships between HADS scores and level of dyspnea and SGRQ scores at ninety patients with COPD. We could not find any relationship between these parameters at all patients. When we separated into groups according to their ages and disease severity, it was found that depression symptoms affected to quality of life at especially stage II and middle / older age groups. At the same time, it was shown that there is relationship between depression/anxiety symptoms and dyspnea level and exercise capacity. We think that should investigate symptoms of depression and/or anxiety as comorbidity should be investigated in COPD.
